Mission
Our mission is to empower children through literacy, nurturing a love for reading and learning from an early age. We are committed to providing access to books, engaging storytelling sessions, and community-based reading programs that inspire children and families.
We believe in promoting inclusivity and diversity in literature, ensuring that every child can see themselves in the stories they read. By collaborating with communities, educators, and partners, we strive to create impactful solutions that address the barriers to childhood literacy. Join us in building a future where every child has the opportunity to embark on their reading journey.

About Page One Readers
We are a children’s literacy 501(c)(3) raising funds to support early childhood reading initiatives in Los Angeles and New York City, with plans to expand into communities where our family—and supporters—have roots.
Started and run by The DeCoud Family, Page One Readers is built on the belief that literacy is both personal and collective. We partner with multiple early literacy programs to amplify impact beyond a single place, helping resources reach more children and educators.
